AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE WEDGEWOOD HILLS PARK DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Monday, March 19, 2001 for the
Wedgewood Hills Park Development Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted
by Wayne Builders in the amount of $130,000.00 is the lowest and best bid for the project,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide funding
authorization for the project,
NOW~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Wayne Builders in the amount of $130,000.00 for the
Wedgewood Hills Park Development Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project
as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file
in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital
Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $137,000 to account number 401-0314-780-2511 for
the project.
Section 4. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and therefore the
ordinance shall be effective upon passage.

On Monday March 19, 2001, bids were opened for the Wedgewood Hills Park Development project. The
publicly announced base bid was estimated at $176,608.35. Four (4) bids were received.
1). Wise Construction $176,000.00
2). Columbus Asphalt $132,000.00
3). Wayne Builders $130,000.00
4). Strawser Paving $144,400.00
The project consists of a small gazebo, playground, bike path and associated site landscaping.
Staff is recommending acceptance of Wayne Builder's base bid in the amount of $130,000.00 Wayne
Builders have a good reputation for similar type projects.
