Hansley, City Manager Date: March 13, 2001 Subject: Ordinance No. 32-01, An Ordinance Amending The Annual Appropriations Initiated by: Marsha I. Grigsby, Director of Finance Ordinance No. 32-01 requests funding authorization to renovate the garage at the Municipal Building for office use. As discussed during the 2001 Operating Budget workshop, additional office space is needed as a result of the increased 2001 staffing levels authorized for the Division of Human Resources and Procurement. Options to lease space, as well as other renovation options, were evaluated and it was determined that renovating the existing garage was the most cost effective option. We had hoped to have estimates for the various phases of the renovation (i.e. demo, construction, electric, carpet, etc.) prior to the end of last year and encumber the necessary funds to complete the project in 2000. The estimates for the project were not completed until late February. The request includes a contingency of approximated 2.3% If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Marsha.
