94-01 OrdinanceRECORD OF ORDINANCES Dayton Legal Blank, Inc. v,.....,.r,, z~,.~~~ ~^^~ Ordinance No. _ 94-O1 Passed . 20 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE OUTDOOR POOL IMPROVEMENTS - WATER PLAY AREA PROJECT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Thursday, July 26, 2001 for the Outdoor Pool Improvements-Water Play Area Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted by The Nadalin Company in the amount of $196,000.00 is the lowest and best bid for the project; and WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2001 CIP project; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide sufficient funding authorization for the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring; Section 1. That the bid submitted by The Nadalin Company in the amount of $196,000.00 for the Outdoor Pool Improvements -Water Play Area Project is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities. Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $55,800.00 to account 401-0314-780-2511 for outdoor pool improvements. Section 4. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and therefore the ordinance shall be effective upon passage. Improvements consist of the installation of water play equipment, resilient rubber surface, ,.~. concrete plaza, concrete walks, associated electrical work and piping. ,~ Two bids were received: 1). The Nadalin Company $196,000.00 Bid Alt. L1 $8,800.00 2). The Righter Company $219,777.00 Bid Alt. L1 $7,000.00 Staff is recommending acceptance of The Nadalin Company's base bid of $196,000.00. The Nadalin Company has previously done work for the City of Dublin and their performance has been satisfactory. Staff is not recommending acceptance of Bid Alternate L1. This was site landscaping that will be done in- house at substantial savings.
