An Ordinance Authorizing The Purchase Of A 2.64 Acre Parcel Located At
6401 Woerner-Temple Road And The 2.64 Acre Parcel Located Adjacent To
And West Of The Same For The Purpose Of Acquiring Additional Parkland,
And Declaring An Emergency
WHEREAS, a goal of the Dublin City Council is to continue to acquire land for
parkland purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Community Plan identified the need and a general vicinity for a
community scale park in the southwest area; and
WHEREAS, the City executed a Development Agreement with the Edwards Golf
Communities, LLC agreeing to acquire parkland from willing sellers located
along WoernerTemple Road; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into agreements to purchase a 2.64 acre
parcel at 6401 WoernerTemple Road for $225,000 and the adjacent 2.64 acre
parcel for $120,000; and
WHEREAS, funds were appropriated in the 2001 Operating Budget in the
Parkland Acquisition Fund for the purpose of assembling parkland in the
southwest area of the City.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute Real Estate
Purchase Agreements and any necessary closing documents related to the
acquisition of 6401 WoernerTemple Road and the adjacent 2.64 acre parcel
identified on the attached Exhibit.
Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for
the preservation of public peace, health, safety or welfare and for the further
reason to complete the real estate transaction in accordance with the terms
included in the Real Estate Purchase Agreements; therefore, this Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
