Form No. 30043 Ordinance No. 170_(11 Passed . 20 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE BRANDON WOODS NATURE TRAIL PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 for the Brandon Woods Nature Trail Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted by McDaniel's Construction Corporation in the amount of $43,000.00 is the lowest and best bid for the project; and WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2001 CIP project. NOW, T~IEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid submitted by McDaniel's Construction Corporation in the amount of $43,000.00 for the Brandon Woods Nature Trail Project is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities. Section 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare of the citizens, and therefore shall take effect upon passage. This is an approved Capital Improvement Project. The work consists of construction and associated site work of a five-foot wide crushed limestone path through a wood lot. Four bids were received with the following results: 1). The Nadalin Company $22,800.00 2). Bale Construction Inc. $55,964.00 3). Environmental Management Inc. $58,950.00 4). McDaniel's Construction Corp.. $43,000.00 The Nadalin Company's bid of $22,800.00 was requested to be withdrawn, based on errors in their calculations. Staff is recommending acceptance of McDaniel's Construction Corporation's base bid of $43,000.00. McDaniel's Construction has worked on numerous projects for the City of Dublin and we have found their work to be satisfactory.
