Form No. 30043 81-98 Ordinance No.__-___.-_ -- Passed _-- ---_ ---19__ . --- AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE LLEWELLYN FARM SPARK/MONTEREY PARK TENNIS COURT RESURFACING PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Llewellyn Farms Park/Monterey Park Tennis Court Resurfacing Project on Wednesday, July 15, 1998, Council has determined that the base bid of $46,755.00 submitted by Ken Heiberger Paving, Inc. is the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, the project is included within the City's 1998 operating budget. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the base bid in the amount of $46,755.00 submitted by Ken Heiberger Paving, Inc. is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Ken Heiberger Paving, Inc.for completion of the project, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Parks Maintenance division. Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further reason that the timeframes for completion of the project require emergency action. Therefore, the ordinance shall be effective upon passage in accordance with Section 4.05 of the Revised Charter. This project was included within the City's 1998 Operating Budget. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $45,000.00. Five (5) bids were received. 1). Strawser Paving Co., Inc. $52,323.00 ~,~, 2). Sheedy Paving, Inc. $52,565.00 3). Ken Heiberger Paving, Inc. $46,755.00 4). Roese Brothers Paving Inc. $48,227.00 5). Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc. $63,700.00 This project consists of asphalt overlay and color coating of tennis courts at the above mentioned parks. Staff is recommending acceptance of Ken Heiberger Pavings, Inc.'s base bid.
