An Ordinance Authorizing The Purchase Of An Eight Acre Parcel At 5930
Post Road For Recreation Purposes, Appropriating Funds Therefore, And
Declaring An Emergency
WHEREAS, a goal of City Council is to continue to acquire land for parkland and
recreation purposes; and
WHEREAS, an eight acre parcel at 5930 Post Road is available for purchase; and
WHEREAS, this parcel will assist in providing a continuous connection of City
owned property along Post Road from Emerald Parkway to the City's western
boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has worked with the property owner in preparing
a Real Estate Purchase Agreement; and
WHEREAS, sufficient resources are available in the Parkland Acquisition Fund; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide
the funding authorization to execute the Real Estate Purchase Agreement and pay
related acquisition costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, _~ of the elected members concumng that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the Real Estate
Purchase Agreement and any necessary closing documents related to the acquisition
of the eight acres at 5930 Post Road.
Section 2. There be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Parkland
Acquisition Fund in the amount of $415,000 to account 41-02-10-2510 for the
purpose of acquiring the eight acre parcel and paying any related acquisition costs.
Section 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure for the purpose
of executing and closing on the purchase in accordance with the Real Estate Purchase
Agreement; therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon its passage.
