AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/
BEST BID FOR THE DUBLIN ROAD (S.R. 745)
BRANDONWAY DRIVE BIKEPATH TUNNEL
FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN,
APPROPRIATING FUNDS,
AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising, receiving and opening bids on May 27, 1998 for the
Dublin Road (S.R. 745) Brandonway Drive Bikepath Tunnel; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the lowest and best bid for said project is from
the Righter Company of Columbus, Ohio, in the amount of $458,187.82; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to execute this contract as soon as
possible, so that construction can take place during favorable weather conditions prior to
the end of 1998 construction season; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide
funding for this project.
N~HEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, Ohio,
of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid from Righter Company in the amount of $458,187.82 be, and
hereby is, accepted.
ection 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract with the Righter Company for completion of said project pursuant to the bid
specifications and documents on file in the office of the City Engineer.
ec ion 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital.
Improvement Tax Fund the amount of $200,000 to account 40-03-14-2550.
Section ~ That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health or welfare of the
residents of this City, and, therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
