To: All Members Dublin City Council From: Timothy C. Hansley, City Manager Initiated by: Dana L. McDaniel, Director of Service Date: July 19, 1998 Re: Surplus Property Staff recommends Council pass Ordinance 85-98, attached, declaring certain City property as surplus. This will be the third year the City has declared certain public property surplus then conducted a public auction. It is obvious from the list of property that this auction relates primarily to the disposal of certain fleet related items. Other City property is also auctioned but because its individual value is less than $1,000, it is not necessary for Council to declare it surplus in accordance with ORC, Section 721.15. ""~' It is important to note that the City is experiencing a benefit from this process. Last year, we entered into the first cycle of newer fleet disposition. On average, the City experienced a '"~°"' 31% return on its original investment in fleet. The process of turning fleet over in a timely manner is earning positive dividends to the City.
