TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR COMPLETION OP THE PROJECT. liiiiiliiIid WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Coffman Park Tennis and Basketball Court Relighting project on May 19, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Chandler Electric, Inc. in the amount of $17,688.00 is the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, the new lighting will decrease electrical demand, require less maintenance and provide better overall lighting characteristics without significantly impacting programming. WHEREAS, this project is part of the Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court improvements contained in the 1994 CIP budget. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT OR~INED by the Council of the City of Dublin, state of Ohio, ____ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid submitted by Chandler Electric, Inc. in the amount of $17,688.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Chandler Electric, Inc. for - completion of the relighting project, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Parks Maintenance division. ~ Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare of this City, and therefore this ordinance shall be in force immediately upon its passage. TO: Dublin City Council Members - FROM: Tim Hansley, City Manager RE: Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court Resurfacing DATE: May 23, 1994 lNITIA TED BY: Fred Hahn, Parks Administrator On May 19t.lJ, 10:00 a.m.; bids were publicly opened on the Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court Relighting project. Two bids were received. Chandler Electric Inc. was submitted at $17,688.00 and Vaughn Industries was submitted at $18,885.00. The estimated cost of the project was $19,250.00. Based on Chandler Electric being the low bidder and their favorable experience record with the City of Dublin, staff is recommending approval of their bid. This project is part of the Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court improvements slated for 1994. Council approved $60,000.00 for these improvements in the 1994 CIP budget. Later t!" this year the City will go out to bid on resurfacing and color coating of the courts. The timing of the resurfacing was based on program issues.
