AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE SEPARATE
~ BIDDING REOUIREMENTS OF OHIO REVISED
CODE SECTION 153.50-52. TO ENABLE THE
CITY TO CONTRACT WITH A
...... GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
WHEREAS, the city of Dublin is a home rule charter munici-
pality pursuant to sections 3 and 7 of Article XVIII of the
Ohio constitution; and, I
WHEREAS, a municipality may under its home rule powers enact
bidding requirements which differ from the separate bidding
requirements set forth in Ohio Revised Code S153.50-.52; and,
WHEREAS, it may be advantageous to the city of Dublin to enter
into contracts with a general contractor as opposed to
separately bidding the various trades; and,
WHEREAS, the decision as to whether a contract shall be bid in
total through a general contractor or whether it shall be bid
separately through the various trades, is a decision which is
local and municipal in character and nature as to which method
would be most practical, advantageous and beneficial to the
citizens of Dublin.
r- NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the city of
. Dublin, State of Ohio, -; of the elected members
concurring.

section 1. That the provisions of Ohio Revised Code
S153.50-.52 as relate to the separate bid requirements for
various trades on municipal projects, may be waived, where it
is appropriate and otherwise in the best interests of the City
of Dublin to enter into a single contract through a general
contractor for construction of municipal projects.
section 2. The decision to waive the provisions for
separate bidding of trade contracts shall be made by the City
Manager.
section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force at the earliest period provided by law.
