AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A BID
FOR COFFMAN ROAD, PHASE 1A
r BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, bids have been received for Coffman Road, Phase 1 A Bridge
Replacement; and
WHEREAS, the lowest/best bid is from Fort Defiance Construction & SUDDlv.
Inc. in the amount of $ 1.483.898.00 ;
WHEREAS, the Ohio Public Works Commission requires that this contract be
awarded no later than July 1, 1993 in order for the City to obtain funds from
the State Issue II Fund; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the Coffman Road Bridge
over the south Fork of Indian Run is in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, the funding for the project is comprised of $1,135,853 in Issue II
money, $250,000 from Franklin County and $250,000 from local income tax
revenues allocated for capital improvements;

I State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring:

....... Section 1, That the bid from Fort Defiance Construction & SUDDlv. Inc.
in the amount of $ 1.483.898.00 be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2, That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute
a contract with Fort Defiance Construction & SUDDlv. Inc. for completion of
said project pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the
office of the City Engineer,
Section 3. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is. declared to be an
emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace. health or welfare
of the residents of this City, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force immediately upon its passage.

DATE: June 21, 1993
Today. June 21, 1993. bids were received and publicly opened and read for the
Coffman Road, Phase 1 A, Bridge Replacement project. Bids were received as shown
on the attached bid form. Also attached is a copy of the bid tabulation for your
information. All bids submitted have been reviewed and it is recommended that we
award this contract to the lowest bidder, Fort Definance Construction & Supply, Inc.
In order to receive State Issue II funds from the Ohio Public Works Commission. this
contract must be awarded no later than July 1, 1993. Therefore, attached is an
emergency Ordinance for approval of City Council prior to awarding this contract to
Fort Defiance Construction & Supply, Inc. Also, Franklin County would like this
project to begin as soon as possible,
