AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A BID
I"- FOR THE RINGS ROAD 2,0 M.G.
ELEVATED WATER TANK AND BOOSTER STATION

WHEREAS, bids have been received for the Rings Road 2.0 M.G. Water Tank
and Booster Station; and
WHEREAS, the lowest/best bid is from Pitt-Des Moines, Inc. in the amount of
$ 3,045,000.00;
WHEREAS, water pressure problems have occurred in portions of the City
during periods of peak demand, thereby creating a threat to public health,
safety and welfare;
WHEREAS, lack of adequate water pressure will create a hazard to the public
in the event of a fire emergency;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid of $3,045,000.00 from Pitt-Des Moines, Inc.
..... be and hereby is, accepted.
: Section 2. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance

in the Rings Road 2.0 Water Tank and Booster Station Construction Fund the
sum of $3,045,000.00 to account 44-03-14-2561 for water tank and booster
station construction, thereby establishing an appropriation for this project.
Section 3. That the City Manager and Finance Director, be, and hereby
are, authorized to enter into a contract with said firm for said elevated water
tank and booster station.
Section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to
be an emergency measure due to water pressure problems in portions of the
City during periods of peak demand creating a threat to public health, safety
and welfare; and that the lack of adequate water pressure creates a hazard to
the public in the event of a fire, and for the further reason that this project
should be initiated as soon as possible and therefore this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.

DATE: June 1, 1993
On Wednesday, May 26, 1993, bids were received and publicly opened
and read for the subject project. The two bids were received as
shown on the attached bid form. Also attached is a copy of the bid
tabulation for your information. Our Consultant has reviewed both
bids and has recommended that we award the contract to the lowest
bidder Pitt-Des Moines, Inc. , of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Attached is an Ordinance for approval as soon as possible by City
Council prior to the award of this contract to Pitt-Des Moines,
Inc.
