AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE SOLID WASTE ADVISORY
COMMITTEE AS A PERMANENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND TO SET
,..... MEMBERSHIP STANDARDS FOR THE SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

WHEREAS, the Dublin Solid Waste Advisory Committee has become
established as an active and valuable committee advancing the
City of Dublin's solid waste management activities; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to assure a continuous membership
body to accomplish the goals and pursuits of the Committee;
and
WHEREAS, the original ordinance does not provide membership
guidelines or terms of office; and
WHEREAS, the city of Dublin recognizes the importance of the
committee and its efforts to keep Dublin in the forefront of
solid waste management;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORD~INED by the Council of the City of
Dublin, State of Ohio, of the members concurring:
section 1- That the Solid Waste Advisory Committee shall
consist of one member of the Dublin city Schools, two members
r- from the commercial sector, and four at large citizen members.
I Members shall be appointed for the following terms: One (1)

I Dublin City Schools Representative for a one-year term; Two

(2) Commercial Sector Representatives, each from a separate
Dublin business, for two-year terms; Four (4) At-Large citizen
Representatives for three-year terms.
A. Commercial Sector Representatives. Two commercial sector
representatives shall serve two-year terms. One commercial
sector representative shall represent a business of fifty (50)
employees or less and the other commercial sector
representative shall represent a business of more than fifty
( 50) employees. While the businesses represented must be
within incorporated Dublin boundaries, the representatives are
not required to be Dublin residents.
B. Dublin city Schools Representative. The school
representative shall serve a one (1) year term. This
individual shall be employed by the Dublin city Schools and
recommended by the Superintendent of Dublin city Schools.
C. At-Larqe citizen Representatives. All at-large citizen
representatives shall live within the city of Dublin and shall
serve for three-year terms. Initial terms shall be staggered
to provide continuity to the Committee. Terms shall be

year term. The position shall then be re-appointed or vacancy
filled to serve three year terms thereafter.
2. One At-Large citizen Representative shall serve a two (2)
year term. The position shall then be re-appointed or the
vacancy filled to serve three year terms thereafter.
3. Two At-Large citizen Representatives shall serve three (3)
year terms.

All members' terms, regardless of actual appointment date,
",.... shall commence on January 1 of the gi ven year, and end in
accordance with the number of year(s) stated above on December
'-- 31, of the final year of the stated term.
Vacancies filled during the term shall serve the remainder of
that term. Council shall then have the option to re-appoint
member or to appoint a new member to the subsequent term.
section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from the earliest period allowed by law.
