AN ORDINANCE TO APPROVE
RENAMING ALLEYS IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT
AND TO NAME THE ENTRANCE INTO KIWANIS PARK IN THE
,.... CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO

WHEREAS, there are alleys named 1st Alley, 2nd Alley, 3rd Alley, 4th Alley, 5th Alley,!
East Alley, West Alley in the City of Dublin, Historic District; and I

WHEREAS, the Old Dublin Association has proposed the renaming of these alleys in thd
Historic District and naming the entrance into Kiwanis Park; and i
I
I
WHEREAS, the entrance to Kiwanis Park does not currently have a name and is not a!
dedicated street; and I
I
WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Director of Parks & Recreation, Police Department, Firel
Department and Franklin County concur; and I
I
!
WHEREAS, the Dublin Historical Society has accepted and endorsed the changes; and I
WHEREAS, Section 723.04 of the Ohio Revised Code provides for a street name to be!

Section 1. That the following alley names, in the Historic District, be, and hereby are I

- 1 st Alley changed to Wing Hill I
- 2nd Alley changed to Spring Hill
- 3rd Alley changed to Eberly Hill I

4th Alley changed to Pinneyhill Lane I

- 5th Alley changed to John Wright Lane I
I
- East Alley changed to Blacksmith Lane North & South I
I
- West Alley changed to Mill Lane I
I
- Entrance into Kiwanis Park be named Fire Engine Hill I

Section 2. That the City Engineer be, and hereby is, directed to have the plat corrected I

The Old Dublin Association is in the process of proposing
renaming the Alleys in Old Dublin.
Those changes would be:
1st Alley changed to Wing Hill
2nd Alley changed to Spring Hill
3rd Alley changed to Eberly Hill
4th Alley changed to Pinneyhill Lane
5th Alley changed to John Wright Lane
East Alley changed to Blacksmith Lane N. & S.
West Alley changed to Mill Lane
Fire Engine Hill (access to Kiwanis Park, Old Spring)

A committee of Herb Jones, Jan Orser and Midge Karrer and Mark
~ Jones were responsible.
The Dublin Historical Society accepted and endorsed the
changes. We are submitting the changes to the City for approval
and endorsement.
Please review and submit this proposal to all proper
Government agencies, ie. Police, Fire, Franklin County, city
Council.
