AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/BEST BID
FOR THE
f'" ASHBAUGH OUTFALL SEWER AND LIFf STATION REMOVAL, 1992

WHEREAS, after advertising, receiving and opening bids on January 13, 1992, for the
Ashbaugh Outfall Sewer and Lift Station Removal, 1992 Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the lowest and best bid for said project is from
Paul Vlack Company, Inc" in the amount of $44,787,10,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid from Paul Vlack Company, Inc" in the amount of $44,787,10
be, and hereby is accepted,
Section 2, That the City Manager and Finance Director be, and hereby are, authorized
and directed to execute a contract with Paul Vlack Company, Inc., for completion of said
project pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the
Department of Development.

SUBJECT: Contractor Recommendation - Ashbaugh Outfall Sewer and
- Lift station Removal, 1992

Recommendation
six bids were opened on January 13, 1992, for the installation of
the Ashbaugh Outfall Sewer and Lift station Removal, 1992. Those
bids are shown on the attached bid summary.
The lowest bid was submitted by Paul Vlack Company, Inc., Canal
Winchester, Ohio. The second lowest bid was submitted by Nickolas
M. Savko & Sons.
We are not familiar with the work of Paul Vlack Company, Inc., and,
therefore, talked with consultants who had supervised their work
for other government organizations.
A large part of this work background is in waste water treatment
plants. Many of these projects have associated sanitary sewer
construction. All references said this company does good quality
work and completes their work in a timely manner.

Therefore, it is recommended that Council authorize the City
Manager to enter into a contract with Paul Vlack Company, Inc. , in
the amount of $44,787.10 for the installation of the Ashbaugh
Outfall Sewer and Pump station Removal.
