AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST I
BEST BID FOR THE 1995 STREET MAINTENANCE
~t;k~ PROGRAM FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, after advertising, receiving and opening bids on June 14, 1995, for the
1995 Street Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the lowest and best bid for said project is
from Shelly & Sands, Inc. in the amount of $690,000.00; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to execute this contract as soon as
possible so that construction can take place during favorable weather conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid from Shelly & Sands, Inc. in the amount of
$690,000.00 be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a
contract with Shelly & Sands, Inc. for completion of said project pursuant to the
bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the City Engineer.

i Section 3. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an
- emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health or welfare of
the residents of this City, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its passage.

Today, June 14, 1995, bids were received and publicly opened and read for the 1995
Street Maintenance Program. Bids were received as shown on the attached bid form.
Also attached is a copy of the bid tabulation for your information. All bids submitted
have been reviewed and it is recommended that we award this contract to the lowest
bidder, Shelly & Sands, Inc.
Attached is an emergency Ordinance for approval as soon as possible by City Council
prior to the awarding of this contract to Shelly & Sands, Inc..
