AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 122-94 TO ESTABLISH A FEE
SCHEDULE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CITY

WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance 51-94 on October 17, 1994, which
established its policy as to the recovery of costs and more particularly the percentage of full costs
to be recovered from users of City services; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance 122-94 on January 23, 1995, which
established a schedule of fees and charges for City services which complied with the policy set
forth in Ordinance 51-94; and
WHEREAS, certain fees for services to special events where not specifically identified and
addressed in those Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, there are special events that may not require City services but do require the use
of City equipment; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish rental fees for City equipment; and
WHEREAS, in order to comply with the intent of these Ordinances, it is necessary to amend the
schedule of fees and charges for City services; and
,... NOW, ~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, elected members concurring:
-- Section 1. That there be added to the Schedule of Fees and Charges For City Services, as listed
in Ordinance 122-94, at their fully burdened hourly rate, and that these fees shall be charged and
collected for the following services:
INDEX OF SERVICES FEE
LEISURE AND CULTURAL SERVICES:
Parks Service to Special Events $33/hr
Building Standards Inspection Services to Special Events $65/hr
Police Service to Special Events $38/hr
Section 2. That the fee schedule identified in Section 1 be applicable for those special events
organizers that submit an application after the effective date of the Ordinance.
Section 3. That the City establish policies and fees for rental of City equipment, by
Administrative Order.
Section 4. The City Manager may recommend waivers or fee adjustments to City Council for
fees for services to special events for City supported special events, Dublin Civic Associations
and Dublin Service Organizations conducting events for the purpose of community spirit, and
,.. some Dublin City School District sponsored events. Fee waivers or adjustments shall be accepted
or rejected by City Council at its next regularly scheduled meeting.

Section 5. That City Services for the following be 100% subsidized by the City where the
,..... purpose is to raise community spirit, and as authorized in the operating budget, including but not
limited to:
-.- City Sponsored Special Events:
* St. Patrick's Day Celebration (City functions only)
* Music at Metro
* Memorial Tournament (City functions only)
-information tent
-corporate tent
-media center
* 4th of July Celebration (City functions only)
* Irish Festival
* Christmas - Tree Lighting
* Dedications of Art in Public Places Celebrations
* Any Special Events approved through the Annual Budget process
Corporate Grand Openings and Ground Breaking Ceremonies
Neighborhood Block Parties (time and equipment related to safety-barricades and cones)
Section 6. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the earliest date permitted by
law.
