BID FOR COSGRAY PAlUt PHASB ONB DEVELOPMENT,
AND DECLARING AR EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on April 24,
a-,. 1995 for development of Phase One of Cosgray Park, Council has
determined that the base bid submitted by George J. Igel & Co.
in the amount of $702,200.00 and the five bid alternates
submitted by George J. Igel & Co. in the amount of
$125,400.00, together totalling $827,600.00 are the lowest and
best bid for this project.
NOW, THBREFORB BB IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Dublin, state of Ohio, j7 of the elected members
concurring:
section 1. That the base bid submitted by George J. Igel &
Co. in the amount of $702,200.00 and the five bid alternates
submitted by George J. Igel & Co. in the amount of
$125,400.00, together totalling $827,600.00 for the
development of Phase One of Cosgray Park project are hereby
accepted.
section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with George J. Igel & Co. for completion
of this project as specified within said bidder's bid proposal
and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Parks
~ Maintenance.
section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency
~. necessary to preserve the public health, safety and welfare,
and for the further reason so that this project may be
initiated at the beginning of the spring construction season.

On Monday April 24, 1995, bids were opened on Cosgray Park Phase I, an approved
1995 CIP, at 11:00 a.m.
The published base bid was estimated at $815.000.00. Two bids were received:
1). George J. Igel Co., at $702,200.00, with five bid alternates equalling
$125.400.00, for a total of$827,600.00.
2), Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc., at $734,000,00, with five bid alternates
equalling $147,000.00, for a total of $881,000.00.

George J. Igel & Co., has been under contract with the City before, most recently on
\..... Phase I of the Community Recreation Center. Their work has been most satisfactory.
Phase I improvements to Cosgray Park include irrigation lines, site grading, under
drainage, storm water drainage, stream crossings, entry drive and parking lots.
Staff is recommending acceptance of George J. Igel & Company's base bid along with
the five bid alternates.
