AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE WIDENING
OF SAWMILL ROAD TO FIVE LANES FROM
- SALTERGATE DRIVE TO SUMMITVIEW ROAD,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, Franklin county plans to reconstruct and widen
Sawmill Road (County Road #70) to five lanes from Saltergate
Drive to summitview Road; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the sawmill Road right-of-way lies
within the city of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, the city of Dublin has requested that the project
specifications include the installation of additional fire
hydrants on the west side of Sawmill Road from the south
property line of the Redeemer Moravian Church to a point
opposite the northerly most existing fire hydrant at a cost of
approximately $12,000, which will be paid by the city of
Dublin; and
WHEREAS, consent of the legislative authority for the project
is required per Ohio Revised Code Chapter 5557, "Municipal
Road Improvement".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the council of the city of
,.".. Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members
concurring:
."'"- section 1- Consent is hereby given to Franklin County to
widen sawmill Road to five lanes from Saltergate Drive to
summitview Road.
section 2. The city of Dublin will reimburse Franklin
County for the cost of installation of additional fire
hydrants on the west side of sawmill Road from the south
property line of the Redeemer Moravian Church to a point
opposite the northerly most existing fire hydrant at a cost
estimated to be approximately $12,000.00, to be paid from the
city Water Fund.
section 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into agreements with the Franklin County Engineer to complete
the planning and construction of this improvement.
section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is,
declared to be an emergency measure for the preservation of
the public peace, health, or welfare of the residents of this
city, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its passage.

Re: Sawmill Road Widening Project
Dear Mr. Bryner:
Per our telephone conversation this morning, Dublin is requesting
that fire hydrants be installed on the west side along portions of
Sawmill Road. The are? of interest lies between the south property
line of the Church of the Redeemer Moravian Church and a point
opposi te the northerly most fire hydrant. This would suggest three
fire hydrants be located on the west side of Sawmill Road. '.. -
Dublin . willing to pay the costs for this adc:lition and

anticipates the cost will not exceed $10,000 to $12,000.
