AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 30-92t CHANGING THE
NAME OF THE PARK DEVELOPMENT FUND TO THE PARKLAND
r.. ACQillSITION FUND AND PROVIDING FOR AN ANNUAL AU-OCATION
OF FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TAX FUND TO THE
J..- PARKLAND ACQUISITION FUND
WHEREASt Ordinance 30-92 established the Park Development Fund, and
WHEREASt the fees collected under Sections 152.086 and 152.087 of the Codified
Ordinances of Dublin, Ohio (previously Sections 1109.02 and 1109.021 of the
Codified Ordinances of Dublin) are credited to the Park Development Fund for the
purpose of acquiring recreational facility sites, open space and/or parkland, and
WHEREASt the fund can also be used for the purchase of less than a fee interest to
obtain open space, scenic or historical easements, and
WHEREAS, City Council has subsequently reaffirmed their endorsement of specifying
that payments made in lieu of open space dedications pursuant to Sections 152.086
and 152.087 of the Codified Ordinances of Dublin, Ohio be used exclusively for
parkland acquisition, and
WHEREAS, the current fund name, Park Development Fundt implies that the fund
could be used for purposes other than acquiring land, and

Li. WHEREAS, the Park Development Fund would be more appropriately titled the
Parkland Acquisition Fund, and
WHEREAS, City Council has adopted a policy of allocating funds on an annual basis
from the Capital Improvements Tax Fund to the Parkland Acquisition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, r; of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the name of the Park Development Fund be changed to the Parkland
Acquisition Fund to more accurately reflect the purpose of the fund.
Section 2. That there be funds appropriated in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund
on an annual basis for the purpose of transferring funds to the Parkland Acquisition
Fund. The appropriation will be approximately two percent of the total Capital
Improvements Tax Fund budget or an amount as determined by City CounciL
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the
earliest period allowed by law.
