AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST AND BEST BID TO
CONSTRUCT K.L. "RED" TRABUE NATURE RESERVE -

DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for M.L.
Red" Trabue Nature Reserve - Phase II/Earlsford Bikepath
Connector; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by
Decker Construction Company in the amount of $293,000.00 is
the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the city of
Dublin, state of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Decker Construction
Company in the total amount of $293,000.00 for M.L. "Red"
Trabue Nature Reserve - Phase II/Earlsford Bikepath Connector
is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
enter into a contract with Decker Construction Company
governing the services as specified within said bidder's bid
proposal and the city's bid documents on file in the Division
of Personnel and Purchasing.

Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an
emergency measure necessary to ensure the health, safety and
-- welfare of the residents of this City, and for the further
reason that the Earlsford Drive bikepath will provide access
to Wyandot Elementary School and the project should be
completed as early in the school year as possible, and
therefore this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon passage.

RE: M. L. "Red" Trabue Nature Reserve - Phase II
Earlsford Bikepath Connector

On September 11, 1995, bids will be opened for M. L. "Red" Trabue Phase II/Earlsford
Bikepath Connector. We plan to ask Council for the first reading of the Ordinance on
September 11th.
M, L. "Red" Trabue Phase II consists of providing access off of Post Road, a vehicular
bridge and small parking lot. Earlsford Bikepath cOlIDector consist of a bikepath and bridge that
connects Earlsford Drive to the existing bikepath that connects to the Dublin Municipal Pool and
Wyandot Elementary.
Both of these projects are under a single lump sum bid and were part of the 1995 C.I.P.
".. appropriations. The completed Ordinance will be submitted to Council at the meeting on
I September 11, 1995.

Staff will consider bid alternates including landscaping, signage, parking stops and gate,
if the budget allows it.
