STREET TREES PROJECT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY .,.,_"....J WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has entered into a Tax Increment Financing Agreement with Metatec Corporation which provides for the construction of certain public improvements by the City of Dublin; and WHEREAS, after advertising, receiving and opening bids on August 15, 1995, for the Post Road Buffer Planting/Perimeter Drive Street Trees Project, Council has determined that the lowest and best bid for said project is from Darby Creek Nursery in the amount of $54,755.00; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations ordinance to provide sufficient funding for the project; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to execute this contract as soon as possible in fulfillment of its Tax Increment Financing obligations, and to assure that construction can take place during favorable weather conditions. NOW, ~ORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring: - Section 1. That the bid from Darby Creek Nursery in the amount of $54,755.00 be, and hereby is, accepted. ~-';+"" Section 2. That the City Manager and Finance Director be, and hereby are, authorized and directed to execute a contract with Darby Creek Nursery for completion of said project pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Department of Development. Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Metatec Tax Increment Financing Fund the amount of $57,500.00 to account 51-03-14-2510. Section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health or welfare of the residents of this City, and in fulfIllment of the City's Tax Increment Financing contractual obligations, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law. SUBJECT: Ordinance 81-95 - Post Road Buffer P1antinglPerimeter Drive Street Trees Project INITIATED BY: The Planning Division On August 15, 1995 bids were opened for the Post Road Buffer Planting/Perimeter Drive Street Tree Project. The bidding was competitive with eight bids submitted. The lowest bidder was Darby Creek Nursery with a bid of $54,775.00. Staff is recommending that this project be awarded to Darby Creek Nursery. Darby Creek Nursery was the landscape contractor for the Coffman Road landscaping that was completed last fall. Attached for your information is a copy of the bid tabulation.
