AN ORDINANCE WAIVING omo's DESIGN
PROFESSIONAL SELECTION LAW UNDER omo

WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is a home rule charter municipality pursuant to Sections 3
and 7 of Article xvm of the Ohio Constitution; and,
WHEREAS, a municipality may under its home rule powers enact competitive bidding
requirements which differ from those under Ohio's Design Professional Selection Law (Ohio
Revised Code Sections 153.65 - .71); and,
WHEREAS, the procedure for the selection of design professionals is a decision which is
local and municipal in character and nature in determining what would be most practical,
advantageous and beneficial to the citizens of Dublin.
Ng" THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio,
'- of the members concurring.
Section 1. That the provisions of Ohio Revised Code Sections 153.65 - .71 shall not be
applicable to the City of Dublin.
Section 2. In addition to meeting existing ordinance and charter provisions as to the
".. contracts and purchases, the City Manager or his designee is authorized to establish such
.... further procedures as are deemed to be in the City's best interest for the selection of design
professionals.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest
period allowed by law.
