AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A
TRANSPORTATION TASK FORCE
FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN
".... the Mt. Auburn study recommended that traffic
WHEREAS,
.... congestion be addressed by the City in order to attract new
businesses as well as retain existing businesses in the city
of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin community Planning Survey of November,
1995 cited traffic concerns as the highest priority of Dublin
residents; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin Retention and Expansion Task Force has
identified transportation issues, including infrastructure,
public transportation and the accessibility of a quality
Dublin work force as critical areas of concern for the city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Dublin, State of Ohio, 1O-of the elected members concurring
that:
section 1. A Transportation Task Force of the city of Dublin
is hereby established to address and to make recommendations
to Council on transportation issues at the request of Council,
and also at the request of Council to serve as a fact-finding
body on behalf of Council and the Planning & Zoning commission
concerning such issues.

section 2. The Transportation Task Force shall have the
.... following duties and functions:
a. To review and/or develop and recommend to Council
comprehensive transportation plans, thoroughfare plan
amendments, traffic management programs and public
transit plans and strategies based upon adopted City
goals and policies.
b. To consider the standards, criteria and adopted policies
of federal, state and local governmental and non-
governmental organizations in defining transportation
goals and plans for the City of Dublin;
c. To communicate, coordinate and cooperate with federal,
state and local governmental and non-governmental
organizations, as well as with the business and
residential communities of Dublin;
d. To encourage creative thinking in developing innovative
ways to facilitate mobility within the City and
throughout the region;
e. To assist with advocacy efforts for regional
",..... transportation improvements; and
..... f. To carry out such other duties and functions as referred
by Council.
section 3. The Transportation Task Force shall consist of
eight (8) members who shall be appointed by Council and who
shall serve three-year terms. When making appointments to the
Transportation Task Force, Council should seek and consider
recommendations from the business, residential and public
communities, including but not limited to local chambers of
commerce, civic and homeowner associations, government
entities, and school districts. Membership shall be composed

selected based on expertise in the various charges of the
Task Force, with an emphasis placed on achieving
appropriate geographical and population representation.

may include, but not be limited to the following:
a. city Engineer or designee from the Division of
Engineering;
b. Chief of police or designee from the Division of Police;
c. Washington Township Fire Chief or designee from the WTFD.
section~. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
at the earliest date permitted by law.
