An Ordinance Authorizing The Purchase Of Six Parcels Of Land Located
On Jenmar Court For The Purpose Of Future Roadway Construction And
- Declaring An Emergency (Emerald Parkway)
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin, in the future, plans to connect Riverside Drive to
IIIIiiiI1I' Sawmill Road; and
WHEREAS, an alignment study titled "Emerald Parkway-Coffman Road to Bright
Road" was completed to identify roadway location alternatives and the impact of the
alternatives on the abutting residential properties; and
WHEREAS, Alternative 1 which located the future roadway adjacent to the northern
right-of-way line of 1-270 and south of Jenmar Court was determined to be the
preferred option; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined it is appropriate to purchase the six affected
parcels on the south side Jenmar Court described on the attached Exhibit; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to resale the homes located on these properties to
recoup a substantial portion of the acquisition costs; and
WHEREAS, funds for the purchase of these parcels have been previously
appropriated.
[ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute real estate purchase
agreements and necessary closing documents related to the acquisition of the six
parcels located on the south side of Jenmar Court affected by the future construction
of Emerald Parkway east of the Scioto River.
Section 2. That this ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure for the preservation of public, health, safety or welfare of this
City and for the further reason that this ordinance is required to be immediately
effective to complete the real estate transactions as agreed to by the City; therefore,
this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
