AN ORDINANCE TO
...... CHANGE THE NAME OF BRITTON PARKWAY
TO EMERALD PARKWAY
..... IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is desirous in maintaining continuity of arterial street names
within the City of Dublin, and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is desirous that the name of Brittm Parkway, south of Rings
Road within the City of Dublin, be changed to Emerald Parkway; and
WHEREAS, this road serves as an important link between the City of Columbus and City of
Dublin. The Dublin City Council urges the City of Columbus to also change the name of
Britton Parkway, between south of the Dublin City limit and Tuttle Crossing Boulevard, in
order to serve the area residents and businesses in a most safe, effective and efficient manneer.
~W, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio,
of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the name of Britton Parkway is hereby changed to Emerald Parkway.
"..... Section 2. That the City Engineer be, and hereby is, directed to have the plat corrected to
conform to this change.

Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force sixty days from the date
of its passage.

Attached, please find a copy of an Ordinance concerning the street name change of Britton Parkway to
Emerald Parkway.
The Dublin corporation limit runs almost through a mid-point between Rings Road and Tuttle Crossing
Boulevard. The concurrence of the City of Columbus with the name change to Emerald Parkway up to
Tuttle Crossing would be highly desirable in order to avoid unnecessary confusion to unwary motorists
and safety personnel.
I have spoken with the Columbus City Engineer, Bob Smith, concerning this matter. By a copy of this
memorandum, I am officially asking him to assist us in the street name change up to Tuttle Crossing in a
uniform manner. Meanwhile, I suggest that the City of Dublin delay the effective date of this
ordinance for 60 days in order to allow the City of Columbus to respond in this time.
