AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR LANDSCAPING
IN CONJUNCTION WIm THE METATEC TAX INCREMENT
FINANCING PROJECT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin (the City) has entered into a Tax Increment Financing
agreement with Metatec Corporation (Metatec) for the purpose of retaining this firm and
encouraging its expansion within the City of Dublin; and,
WHEREAS, the retention and expansion of Metatec Corporation have been determined
to be a public purpose consistent with the City of Dublin's adopted Economic
Development Strategy; and,
WHEREAS, the vast majority of the public improvements contemplated in the City's
TIP agreement with Metatec Corporation will not be bid by the City until early 1995;
and,
WHEREAS, a small portion of those contemplated public improvements to include final
grading and seeding need to be carried-out as part of the construction of the Metatec
Corporation site development now underway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That there be advanced from the General Fund the amount of $7,500 to the
Metatec TIF Fund for the purpose of seeding and fertilizing the completed mounding as
provided for in the tax increment financing agreement. This advance is to be reimbursed
to the General Fund from the service payments in lieu of taxes that will be received from
the Franklin County Auditor.
Section 2. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Metatec
TIF Fund the amount of $7,500 to account 51-03-14-2510 for landscaping costs related
to the project.
Section 3. That this ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency
measure for the preservation of public peace, health or welfare of the residents of this
City, and therefore this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage.
