AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1187 (LANDSCAPING) I
RELATING TO
STREET TREE AND PUBLIC TREE REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the Dublin Planning and zoning Code was amended to
landscaping requirements in 1981; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 1187 of the Planning and Zoning Code (the
Landscape Code) was initially adopted to improve the
appearance of the community, to provide for buffering between
incompatible uses and to promote the public health and safety
of the community through a variety of means; and
WHEREAS, the initial Landscape Code required the planting of
street trees in Residential and Planned Unit Development
Districts; and
WHEREAS, the Landscape Code was later amended in 1988 to
require the planting of street trees in all zoning districts;
and
WHEREAS, the Landscape Code was again revised in 1991, and the
one clearest sentence requiring the planting of street trees
in all zoning districts was inadvertently deleted from the
final draft of the legislation; and
WHEREAS, the city of Dublin became a Tree City in 1988 in part
because of its efforts in the area of the planting, care and
maintenance of its street trees; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin continues in its commitment to the
goal of a community of tree lined street; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to correct this oversight in the
quickest possible manner, and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning commission has reviewed the
following revision and recommended ~~

WHEREAS, the Tree and Landscape Advisory Committee has
reviewed the following revision and has voted to recommend
approval on July 21, 1993; and
WHEREAS, periodic amendments to the Planning and Zoning Code
are necessary to provide for the needs and desires of the
community and to protect the health, safety and welfare of the
residents;
NOW, THEREFOR~BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of Dublin, state
of Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. The Part Eleven, Title Seven, Chapter 1187 of the
codified ordinances to amended to add the following language:
1187.09 STREET TREE AND PUBLIC TREE REQUIREMENTS.
The plantinq of street trees shall be required at the
time a parcel is developed or redeveloped. in all zoninq
districts. and in accordance with the followinq requlations.

SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
