AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT AND
PARKS MAINTENANCE WImOUT FORMAL ADVERTISING
AND COMPETITIVE BIDDING, AMENDING THE ANNUAL
APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1995 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the file server used by the Department of Development and Parks Maintenance was
scheduled for replacement in 1995; and
WHEREAS, the 1995 cash capital budget recently submitted to City Council included funding
for a replacement file server; and
WHEREAS, since February 1, 1995 the current file server has been nonoperational; and
WHEREAS, the file server is critical to the daily operations of the City and there is an urgent
need to replace the equipment; and
WHEREAS, the amount of the purchase exceeds the $10,000 limit which would require the City
to comply with formal competitive bidding procedures; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate funds for the purpose of purchasing a replacement file
server and necessary appurtenances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, 7 elected members concurring:
Section 1. That, pursuant to Section 8.02 of the Dublin Charter and Section 735.051 of the Ohio
Revised Code, the purchase of a replacement file server and necessary appurtenances in the
amount of approximately $35,000, without formal advertising and competitive bidding, is hereby
authorized.
Section 2. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital
Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $35,000 for a replacement file server and necessary
appurtenances.
Section 3. That this ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency
measure for the preservation of public peace, health or welfare of the residents of this
City, and therefore this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage.
