AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A BID FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF A 16" WATERLINE
ON BRAND ROAD FROM BRANDONWAY TO
MUIRFIELD DRIVE AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Village of Dublin has previously contracted with Burgess
& Niple, Ltd. to prepare plans and specifications for a 16" waterline
on Brand Road from Brandonway to Muirfield Drive; and
WHEREAS, bids have been received to construct said waterline.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin,.
State of Ohio, 5 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid in the amount of ~162,896.00 from Music
~nd Underwood, Inc. to construct the Brand Road Waterline in accordance
with our plans and specifications be and hereby is accepted; and
Section 2. That the Acting Village Manager and Finance Director be
authorized to enter into a contract with Music and Underwood Inc. and
Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance
in the Water Fund the sum of $162,896.00 to account EOI-05-5W-2560.
Section 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency necessary
to preserve the public health, safety and welfare and therefore shall
take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.

Bids were opened at 11:00 AM on March 30, 1987 for the Brand Road
Water Main Improvements. Six bids were received as follows:
Music & Underwood Inc. $162,896.00
Jack Conie & Sons, Corp. $183,707.50
Nickolas Sayco & Sons, Inc. $173,872.50
Hanson Excavating $186,780.00
Prater Construction Corporation $190,265.00
Tom Mayle & Sons Const. Inc. $169,586.00
Music & Underwood, Inc. is from Prestonburg, Kentucky, but has
listed waterline experience with Delaware and Gahanna, Ohio.
Gahanna's Engineer indicates that the work they performed was
satisfactory and that they were cooperative.
Therefore I recommend award to Music & Underwood, Inc. , the low
bidder, in the amount of $162,896.00
