WHEREAS, bids have been received for Property and Crime Insurance including Buildings and Contents, Extra Expense, Valuable Papers, Scheduled Property, Employee Dishonesty Blanket Coverage and Broad Form Money and Securities Coverage, and; WHEREAS, the lowest/best bid is from Haughn & Associates in the amount of $8,256.00 for coverage from August 23, 1986 to August 23, 1987. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid of Haughn & Associates for the period August 23, 1986 to August 23, 1987 be, and hereby is, accepted. Section 2. That the Village Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract with said firm for said insurance coverage. Section 3. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency measure for the reason that the current coverage will expire on August 23, 1986 and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. Harding, Administrative Assistant to the Village Manager Dtt- SUBJECT: Property and Crime Insurance DATE: August 12, 1986 On Friday, August 1, 1986 bids were opened for Property and Crime Insurance. Attached please find the tabulation of bids and an ordinance accepting the lowest/best bid. You will note that Haughn & Associates, Inc. has submitted the lowest bid. Based on this tabulation, I would recommend that their bid in the amount of $8,256.00 for the period covering August 23, 1986 to August 23, 1987 be accepted by Council. Following is a summary of the type and amount of coverage included. -k Building and Contents Coverage: 90% blanket on all real and personal property with a per occurrence deductible of $250.00. ..,'r Extra Expense Coverage: $100,000.00 blanket on Municipal Building and Maintenance Building. (This is Indirect Loss coverage - a loss arising as a consequence of a direct loss, e. g. , the cost of renting office space for the engineering staff if engineering offices are destroyed by fire.) .'k Valuable Papers Coverage: $50,000.00 blanket on Municipal Building. (This covers the cost of reproducing valuable documents, e.g. , drawings, blueprints, deeds, maps, etc. ";': Scheduled Property Floater Coverage: $207,311.00 with a $100 deductible. Covers equipment and property consisting of such items as a backhoe, leaf vacuum, insect fogger, mowers, tractors, plow blades, walkie-talkies, etc. (Vehicles such as dump trucks and police cruisers are covered under Fleet Insurance.) -,- Crime - Coverage: $50,000.00 per occurrence blanket for Employee Dishonesty. Coverage: $10,000.00 blanket for loss of money and securities inside and outside the premises. Since the current coverage expires on August 23, 1986, I respectfully request that the attached ordinance be adopted as emergency legislation.
