WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising, bids have been re- ceived for the 1986 Street Improvements and: WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid of Strawser Paving Co., Inc. for said improvements, in the amount of $193,660.00, is the lowest/best bid: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring: SECTION 1. That the bid of Strawser Paving Co., Inc. for said improvements in accordance with specifications on file in the office of the Engineer be, and hereby is, accepted. SECTION 2. That the Village Manager and Finance Director be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed to execute a con- tract with the said Strawser Paving Co., Inc. for the 1986 Street Improvements. SECTION 3. There were five (5) bidders and their bids were as follows: 1. Strawser Paving Company, Inc. 1388 Stimmel Road $193,660.00 P. O. Box 23053 Columbus, Ohio 43223 2. Northwood Stone & Asphalt, Inc. 8328 Watkins Road $198,992.60 P. O. Box 178 Ostrander, Ohio 43061 3. S. E. Johnson Company P. O. Box 1007 $200,895.20 1385 London Road Delaware, Ohio 43015 4. Columbus Asphalt Paving Inc. 1850 McKinley Avenue $226,375.80 Columbus, Ohio 43222 5. Decker Construction 3040 McKinlev Avenue $255,360.00 Columbus, Ohio 43024 The engineer's estimate cost was $218,476.00. The three (3) low bidders were under the engineer's estimate. Therefore I would recommend the award be made to Strawser Paving company, Inc. in the amount of $193,660.00. This bid is $24,816.00 under the engineer's estimate cost of construction.
