WHEREAS, pursuant to the required advertising, bids have been received J and were opened on Friday, September 8, 1989 at 10:00 A.M. for constructio of the 16" Brand Road Waterline. WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid of Jack R. Conie and Sons, Inc. in the amount of $10S,227.50 is the lowest/best bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring: - Section 1. That the bid of Jack R. Conie and Sons, Inc. for said project in accordance with specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer be, and hereby is, accepted. Section 2. That the Manager and Finance Director be, and hereby are, authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said Jack R. Conie and Sons, Inc. in the amount of $10S,227.50 for the construction of the 16" Brand Road Waterline. Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the public peace, health and safety and for the further reason that said improvements are currently needed, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. Two bids were received. Details are shown on the attached bid summary. The lowest bid submitted was from Jack Conie & Sons of Columbus, Ohio for $108,227.50 The second lowest bid was from The Righter Company of Columbus, Ohio for $178,256.00. Both bids were higher than the Engineer's estimate of $99,268.00 The highest was 80% over the engineer's estimate and the lowest was 9% over the engineer's estimate. Jack Conie & Sons is considered to have submitted the lowest and best bid.
