AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A PERMIT
TO USE FIRE HYDRANTS WITHIN THE
CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus has adopted Rules and Regulations (see attache
Exhibit A) for use of fire hydrants on the City of Columbus water distribu-
tion system, effective May 1, 1989; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is on the Columbus water distribution system,
and it is necessary to control the improper use of fire hydrants because
damaged fire hydrants threaten the property and safety of the citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 6-1 of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The City of Dublin will, effective immediately, charge $25.00
for a permit to allow the use of fire hydrants within the City of Dublin to
cover administrative costs as well as costs of repairs should hydrants
become damaged.
Section 2. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measur
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health,
safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is necessary to
control the improper use of fire hydrants, and provided jt receives the
affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of Council, it shall take
effect immediately after passage and approval by the Mayor; otherwise it
shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period
allowed by law.
