AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A
SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Dublin City Council shares a genuine concern about the dwindling
landfill space available to Central Ohio; and
WHEREAS, House Bill 592 passed in 1988, localizes the responsibility for
waste disposal and reduction of reliance on landfills; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin recognizes the Franklin County Regional Solid
Waste Management Authority as the lead agency in developing a comprehensive
solid waste management plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin desires to begin doing its part to reduce the
waste stream;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 7-0 of the elected members concurring that:

Section 1. The following residents of Dublin are hereby appointed to the
Solid Waste Advisory Committee by the Dublin City Council:

Katherine L. Kelly
Lynn Rose
Kurt Mucharsky
George A. Peplow
John R. Ramm
Karen R. Schwab
Wi 11 iam Tordoff
James D. Viets
Section 2. The stated purpose of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee is
to:
Research, develop and recommend to City Council a comprehensive
solid waste management plan that addresses, at a minimum, re-
cycling of household solid waste, composting yard waste,
collection of household hazardous materials, waste reduction
and minimization for both residential and commercial units,
and increasing public awareness and educational efforts of
solid waste management issues. This plan shall give considera-
tion to and incorporate within those rules, regulations and
guidelines established by the Franklin County Regional Solid
Waste Management Authority.
Section 3. This Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be
an emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health
and safety, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force immediately upon its passage.
