MEMORANDUM TO: City Council FROM: Tim Hansley DATE: March 27, 1991 SUBJECT: Blazer Parkway Landscaping Bids (Ordinance 24-91) * * * Initiated by Mary Newcomb On March 19, 1991, bids were opened for the Blazer parkway Landscaping project. The bidding was very competitive with a total of sixteen bids submitted. The lowest bidder was Greenscapes Landscape Co. with a bid of $29,252.76. Greenscapes was the company who planted the perennials at Chamber's Gateway. staff is recommending that this project be awarded to them. Staff is in the process of preparing the plans and bid documents for Phase II Blazer Parkway Landscaping. Phase II, made possible by the increased Capital Improvement amount, will include the addition of a privet hedge along Blazer Parkway and will include additional Serviceberries. Plans for both Phase I and Phase II have been presented to representatives of Ashland Chemical and meet with their approval. Depending on availability of plant material, it is expected that Phase II will also be implemented this Spring. Due to Ashland's desire to have this project get underway, and due to,the time of year and availability of plant material, Staff is respectfully requesting emergency action on this ordinance.
