DUBLIN P.A.R+K.S --(d-- TO: Dublin City Council - - - - ECREATION FROM: Tim Hansley, City Manager 6665 Coffman Road SUBJECT: Bid for Frantz Road Street Trees Dublin, Ohio 43017 (614) 761-6520 REPORT COMPILED BY: Paula Yetzer, City Forester FAX(614) 889-0740 DATE: October 4, 1990 On October 1, 1990 the bid for the Frantz Road Street Tree Project was opened and Riepenhoff Landscape, Inc. was the only contractor to present a bid. The estimated cost of this project was $54,000. Riepenhoff calculated their base bid to be $47,850 but inserted an alternate of a different tree cultivar and an additional $738.50 for larger caliper trees. It was stated that this caliper was easier to obtain within the nursery industry. This change would make their bid a total of $48,588.50. I would like to recommend that Riepenlloff Landscape be awarded this project. This recommendation comes from previous work that Riepenhoff has done for the city at the intersection of Frantz Road and Hayden RUll. This area has met with favorable response from the residents of Dublin. I am requesting an emergency passing of the funds due to the seasonal nature of the work. Thank you for your consideration. cc: Frances Urban, Clerk of Courts Janet Jordan, Director of Parks and Recreation
