AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE
POLICE CHIEF TO ACCEPT CASH
RECEIVED AS A RESULT OF MANDA-
TORY FINES IMPOSED FOR DRUG
OFFENSE CONVICTIONS IN ACCORDANCE
WITH SECTION 2925.03 OF THE OHIO
REVISED CODE AND TO AUTHORIZE THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MANDATORY
DRUG FINE FUND
WHEREAS, Section 2925.03, Revised Code, provides for law enforcement
agencies primarily responsible for or being involved in the arrest of,
and prosecution of, drug offenders to receive mandatory fines imposed on
convicted offenders; and,
WHEREAS, the fines received must be placed in a special fund and used
solely to subsidize the agency's law enforcement efforts pertaining to
drug offenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 7 Of the elected members concurring that:

Section 1. The Police Chief be and is hereby authorized and directed to
accept cash from the mandatory drug fines imposed on convicted drug
offenders in accordance with Section 2925.03, Revised Code.
Section 2. There be established the Mandatory Drug Fine Fund, a Special
Revenue Fund, in which the Police Chief shall deposit all mandatory drug
fines received.
Section 3. The fund be used only to subsidize the City's law enforcement
efforts pertaining to drug offenses.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from the
earliest period allowed by law.
