093-90 Ordinance RECORD OF ORDINANCES Dayton Legal Blank Co, Form No, 30043 Ordinance NO'~m~13__90n~~__ Passed - nnn_ _ nn~_ _ _ __n~ _ __H ~ __n19n AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR ROAD SALT FOR THE TIME PERIOD COVERING NOVEMBER 1, 1990 THROUGH MARCH 31, 1991 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT GOVERNING THE PROCUREMENT OF SAID SALT. I WHEREAS , after advertising and receiving bids for road salt for the time period covering November 1, 1990 through March 31, 1991; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Morton International in the amount of $32.75/ton, is the lowest and best bid; I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring: Section l. That the bid submitted by Morton International, in the amount of $32.75/ton, for road salt for the time period covering November 1, 1990 through March 31, 1991, is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Morton International governing the procurement of said salt as specified within said bidder's bid proposal on file in the Division of Personnel & Purchasing. Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the earliest date permitted by law. Harding, Director of Personnel & Purchasing~ After advertising and receiving bids for road salt for the time period covering November 1, 1990 through March 31, 1991, said bids were opened at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 12, 1990. Attached for your consideration please find the bid tabulation and Ordinance No. 93-90 accepting the lowest & best bid. As reflected in the attached bid tabulation, the City received bids from the following vendors: * Morton International, Inc. * Domtar Industries, Inc. * AKZO Salt, Inc. * Cargill, Inc. After evaluating the bids from the above referenced vendors, it is staff's judgement that the bid submitted by Morton International, Inc. in the amount of $32.75/ton is the lowest & best bid. Therefore, staff recommends that said bid be accepted. Funds for the purchase of road salt were authorized in the 1990 Operating Budget. DLH/mc
