AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT A QUOTATION FROM AN
EHGIHEElUHG FIRM FOR THE PREPARATION OF DE-
TAILED EHGIHEElUHG PLANS AND CON'l'RACT
00CUMEN'l"S FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE
ADDITIONAL WESTERH HALF OF FRAMTZ ROAD
FROM 'roTTLE ROAD TO RINGS ROAD.
WRRRF~S, it is the desire of the Dublin Village Council to eventually con-
struct the west half of Frantz Road from Tuttle Road to Rings Road, and:
WRRRF~S, design engineering will be required prior to obtaining bids for the
construction of this project, and;
WHEREAS, a quotation has been received for the preparation of plans and con-
tract documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. That the quotation for ~preparation of detailed engineering
plans and contract documents for the west half of Frantz Road from Tuttle
Road to Rings Road from C.F. Bird and R.J. Bull, Ltd., in an amount not to
exceed $10,500.00 be, and hereby is, accepted.
SECTION 2. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in
the General Fund, to account A01-06-6A-2550, the sum of $10,500.00 to cover
the cost of these services.
SECTION 3. That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract with said firm for these services.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after the earliest period allowed by law.

RE: Engineering proposal - Frantz Road
Attached hereto is a proposal from C. F. Bird &
R. J . Bull, Ltd. to prepare plans and contract documents
for the west half of Frantz Road from Tuttle Road to Rings
Road.
Total cost for said work not to exceed $10,500.00.
In Ordinance no. 31-86, I had put in an amount of $40,000.00,
as you can see this proposal is well below the amount budgeted
for the project.
Therefore, I would recommend that an award be made
to Bird & Bull, Ltd. for said engineering services.

Dear Bruce:
Thank you for the opportunity to submit a proposal to perform sur-
veying and engineering services for the improvement of the west half
of Frantz Road from Tuttle Road to Rings Road.
We propose a fee of $9,500 to $10,500 to prepare the construction
drawings and contract documents for the street and associated storm
sewer improvements. This fee includes the preparation of street
cross-sections as incorporated in the plans for the original phase.
Construction staking is not included in the above fee, but per your
request, we are preparing a separate proposal for the construction
staking of the proposed improvements.
We hope this proposal meets with your approval and that we may once
again have the opportunity to work with the Village of Dublin on
this project.

Included in the Capital Improvements approved by Council " .

Principal" on Ordinance No: 31-86 adopted by Council on April
21, 1986 was the preparation of detailed plans and
specifications for these two (2) additional lanes of Frantz
Road and, at that time Mr. Warner had estimated the cost at
$40,000.00.
He has recently received a quotation from C.F. Bird and R.J.
Bull, Ltd. , in the amount of $10,500.00 to prepare said plans
and, I have prepared an Ordinance for Council consideration
regarding this quotation. Mr. Warner is of the opinion that
the two (2 ) additional lanes will be required in 1987 although
the City of Columbus has indicated that it may be a few years
before they will widen their portion from Tuttle to Hayden Run
Road.
If it is the desire of Council to proceed to have the plans
prepared so as to be ready to advertise for construction at
some future date, this Ordinance provides that opportunity.
