AN ORDINANCE TO ADJUST THE MUNICIPAL
BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN TO
INCLUDE A PORTION OF DUBLIN ROAD AND
A TRIANGULAR PARCEL OF LAND CREATED
BY THE REALIGNMENT OF DUBLIN ROAD AND
FRANTZ ROAD
WHEREAS, the realignment of Dublin and Frantz Road has created a
triangular parcel of land within the corporation limits of the City
of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, the residences immediately to the east of said parcel are
located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, said residents have improved and maintained said parcel at
their own expense; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of said parcel would not involve the transfer of
territory inhabited by more than five voters pursuant to Ohio Revised
Code 709.37.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 5 elected members concurring that:
Section 1. Council for the City of Dublin hereby agrees to change its
municipal boundary to include therein the parcel of land including a
portion of Dublin Road and a triangular parcel all located immediately
north and east of the intersection of Dublin and Frantz Road, and
more fully described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated
herein as if fully rewritten.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the earliest period allowed by law.

REASON FOR LEGISLATION
Dear Members of Columbus City Council:
This is an ordinance by which the City consents to the adjustment of
corporation boundaries between Dublin and Columbus. The area to be
transferred to Dublin is located north of the intersection of Hayden Run Road
and Dublin Road and consists in general of the 70' Dublin Road right-of-way
north from Hayden Run Road approximately I, 800 feet. With the completed
construction of Frantz Road, Old Dublin Road will be used primarily by Dublin
residents and as such should be maintained by the City of Dublin. Both Dublin
and Columbus agree with this boundary adjustment.

WHEREAS, the City of Columbus and the Village of Dublin have a common
boundary on Dublin Road north of Hayden Run Road; and
WHEREAS, with the completion of Frantz Road, Dublin Road will be mainly used
by residents of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Dublin and the City
of Columbus that a portion of land located primarily in Dublin Road be
transferred from Columbus to Dublin thereby providing street maintenance and
law enforcement by the Village of Dublin for Dublin residents; and
WHEREAS, the proposed boundary adjustment does not involve the transfer of
territory inhabited by more than five voters; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That in accordance with the provisions of Section 709.37 of the
Ohio Revised Code the City of Columbus, Ohio agrees to the transfer of 3.207~
acres of land to'the Village of Dublin, Ohio; said land being described as
follows:

Being situated in the state of Ohio, County of Franklin, City
of Columbus and being more particularly described as follows;
Beginning at the northwest corner of Hayden Farms Addition,
plat book 26, page 22, said point being on the cJrporation line be-
tween the City of Columbus and the City of Dublin, said point also
being on the east right-of-way line of Dublin Road and said point
being located 401 east of the centerline of Dublin Road;
Thence S 00 171 W, with the said corporation line, across the
Hayden Farms Addition, ~o a point of curvature in lot #1, and a
point of intersection of the projection of the north right-of-way
line of Frantz Road, a distance of 1813.121;
Thence northwesterly with the projection of the north right-
of-way line of Frantz Road, with a curvature to the left and having
a radius of 900.00', a chord distance of 5041 + or -, to a point
of curvature in lot #125, Ballymead at Dublin Sec. #3, said line
and point of curvature being 50' north of the centerline of Frantz
Road;
Thence northeasterly, with the east line of the said lot #125 and
the west right-of-way line of Dublin Road, with a curve to the left
having a radius 20' and a chord distance of 27.51' to a point of
tangency in lot #125;
Thence N 520 17' lO" E, with the west right-or-way line of
Dublin Road, a distance of 9.5ot to a point of curvature in lot
#125;
Thence northeasterly, with a curve to the left having a radius
of 270' and a chord distance of 238' + or - to a point of tangency
in lot #124;
Thence N 00 171 00" E, parallel to and 301 west of the center-
line of Dublin Road, crossing the subdivisions of Ballymead Sec. #3
Part #2, Ballymead at Dublin Sec. #2 and Hayden Meadows, a distance
of 1167.831 to a point at the northeast corner of Hayden Meadow,

RESOLUTION TO ADJUST THE
BOUNDARIES BETWEEN THE CITIES
OF COLUMBUS AND DUBLIN - GRANTED

WHEREAS, the Cities of Columbus and Dublin have agreed to adjust their
boundaries and they have fo llowed the procedures set by Section 709.37
and related sections of the Ohio Revised Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Franklin County Board of County Commissioners are required
to hear and decide the question of the adjustment and then forward their
recommendations on to the Secretary of State and the County Auditor; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Dub li n has passed Ordinance No. 11-88
altering its boundaries and the City County of Columbus has passed Ordinance
No. 217-85, establishing their concurrence with the boundary modification
enacted by Dublin. Certified copies of both resolutions were presented
to the County Commissioners for review on the proposed change, therefore
on the motion of Commissioner Teater , seconded by Commissioner
Foulk

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY,
OHIO:
Section 1. That the boundary change proposed by the Cities
of Columbus and Dub lin be granted and the related ordinances
and papers forwarded to the Secretary of State and the Franklin
County Auditor for their review.

FRANTZ ROAD
WHEREAS, the realignment of Dublin and Frantz Road has created a
triangular parcel of land within the corporation limits of the City
of Columbus; and
WHEREAS, the residences immediately to the east of said parcel are
located within the municipal boundaries of the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, said residents have improved and maintained said parcel at
their own expense; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of said parcel would not involve the transfer of
territory inhabited by more than five voters pursuant to Ohio Revised
Code 709.37.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 5 elected members concurring that:
Section 1. Council for the City of Dublin hereby agrees to change its
municipal boundary to include therein the parcel of land including a
portion of Dublin Road and a triangular parcel all located immediately
north and east of the intersection of Dublin and Frantz Road, and
more fully described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated
herein as if fully rewritten.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the earliest period allowed by law.

REASON FOR LEGISLATION
Dear Members of Columbus City Council:
This is an ordinance by which the City consents to the adjustment of
corporation boundaries between Dublin and Columbus. The area to be
transferred to Dublin is located north of the intersection of Hayden Run Road
and Dublin Road and consists in general of the 70' Dublin Road right-of-way
north from Hayden Run Road approximately 1,800 feet. With the completed
construction of Frantz Road, Old Dublin Road will be used primarily by Dublin
residents and as such should be maintained by the City of Dublin. Both Dublin
and Columbus agree with this boundary adjustment.

Columbus, Ohio and the Village of Dublin, Ohio, by consenting to the transfer
from Columbus to Dublin of 3.207+ acres of land located generally on Dublin
Road north of Hayden Run Road.

WHEREAS, tt-e City of Columbus and the Village of Dublin have a common
boundary on Dublin Road north of Hayden Run Road; and
WHEREAS, with the completion of Frantz Road, Dublin Road will be mainly used
by residents of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the Village of Dublin and the City
of Columbus that a portion of land located primarily in Dublin Road be
transferred from Columbus to Dublin thereby providing street maintenance and
law enforcement by the Village of Dublin for Dublin residents; and
WHEREAS, the proposed boundary adjustment does not involve the transfer of
territory inhabited by more than five voters; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLUMBUS:
Section 1. That in accordance with the provisions of Section 709.37 of the
Ohio Revised Code the City of Columbus, Ohio agrees to the transfer of 3.207~
acres of land to' the Village of Dublin, Ohio; said land being described as
follows:

Being situated in the state of OhiO, County of Franklin, City
of Columbus and being more particularly described as follows;
Beginning at the northwest corner of Hayden Farms Addition,

plat book 20, page 22, said point being on the cJrporation line be-
tween the City of Columbus and the City of Dublin, said point also
being on the east right-of-way line of Dublin Road and said point
being located 40' east of the centerline of Dublin Road;
Thence S 00 17' W, with the said corporation line, across the
Hayden Farms Addition, ~o a point of curvature in lot #1, and a
point of intersection of the projection of the north right-of-way
line of Frantz Road, a distance of 1813.121;
Thence northwesterly with the projection of the north right-
of-way line of Frantz Road, with a curvature to the left and having
a radius of 900.001, a chord distance of 5041 + or -, to a point
of curvature in lot #125, Ballymead a t Dublin Sec. 113, said line
and point of curvature being 501 north of the centerline of Frantz
Road;
Thence northeasterly, with the east line of the said lot #125 and
the west right-of-way line of Dublin Road, with a curve to the left
having a radius 20' and a chord distance of 27.51' to a point of
tangency in lot #125;
Thence N 520 17' 10" E, with the west right-of-way line of
Dublin Road, a distance of 9.501 to a point of curvature in lot
#125 ;
Thence northeasterly, with a curve to the left having a radius
of 270' and a chord distance of 238' + or - to a point of tangency
in lot #124;
Thence N 00 17' 00" E, parallel to and 30' west of the center-
line of Dublin Road, crossing the subdivisions of Ballymead Sec. #3
Part #2, Ballymead at Dublin Sec. #2 and Hayden Meadows, a distance
of 1107.831 to a point at the northeast corner of Hayden Meadow,

RESOLUTION FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE
FOR THE BOUNDARY CHANGE BETWEEN THE
CITY OF COLUMBUS AND THE CITY OF DUBLIN

WHEREAS, the City of Dublin and the City of Columbus have agreed to
adjust their corporation boundaries and are petitioning the Board of County
Commissioners of Franklin County, Ohio to approve the change; and
WHEREAS, the City of Columbus in Ordinance 4t217-85 agreed to transfer
area located north of the intersection of Hayden Run Road and Dub lin Road
and in general consists of the 70' Dublin Road right-of-way north from
Hayden Run Road approximately 1800 feet; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin, in Ordinance 4tll-88, agreed to accept
the 3.207 acres from the City of Columbus, therefore, upon the motion of

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF FRANKLIN COUNTY,
