AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER AND FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO PURCHASE A USED
1960 FORD/SUTPHEN PUMPER FIRE
TRUCK TO BE USED FOR WATERING
TREES AND OTHER LANDSCAPING
MATERIALS OWNED BY THE CITY OF
DUBLIN, AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has had substantial amounts of landscaping
materials planted requiring water for survival; and
WHEREAS, severe drought conditions have occurred and a subsequent water-
ing ban has recently been invoked; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has the opportunity to purchase a used 1960
Ford/Sutphen Pumper to be used for the purpose of watering said land-
scaping with water from local retention ponds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the City Manager and Finance Director be, and hereby
are, authorized to purchase a used 1960 Ford/Sutphen Pumper as provided
under Section 735.05.01 of the Ohio Revised Code relating to emergency
purchases.
Section 2. That the expenditure of funds in the amount of $8,500.00 is
approved from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund from account A01-07-7J-234B.
Section 3. That this Ordinance be, and it hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure necessary to preserve the public peace, health and
safety and for the further reason that this equipment is necessary to
save substantial loss of property or funds which would be required to
replace said loss of property and therefore, this Ordinance shall take
effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
