AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE
LOWEST/BEST BID FOR 1988
STREET IMPROVEMENTS, AUTHOR-
IZING AND DIRECTING THE
MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising, bids have been received for
the 1988 Street Improvements; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid of S. E. Johnson
Companies, Inc. for said improvements in the amount of
$479,070.03 is the lowest/best bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, -7---of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid of S. E. Johnson Companies, Inc. for said
improvements in accordance with specifications on file in the office
of the Engineer be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. That the Manager and Finance Director be, and they hereby
are, authorized and directed to execute a contract with the said
S. E. Johnson Companies, Inc. for the 1988 Street Improvements.
Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure
necessary for the public peace, health and safety and for the further
reason that said improvements are currently needed and therefore this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage.

SUBJECT: 1988 Street Repair Program
The City of Dublin opened bids at ll:OO A.M. on July 1, 1988, for the
1988 Street Repair Program. Five bids were opened with the lowest and
best bid being submitted by S. E. Johnson Co. of Delaware, Ohio. Their
bid including Proposal "A" and Proposal "B" is $479,070.03 which is under
the engineer's estimate of $657,500.00.
The bid submitted by S. E. Johnson is responsive and also the lowest
and best bid. Therefore, it is recommended they be awarded the contract.
A tabulation of bids is attached for your information.
