ORDINANCE NO. 36-84
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DUBLIN TRAFFIC
CODE, AND REGULATING THE OPERATION AND
USE OF MOTORIZED BICYCLES (MOPEDS) WITHIN
THE VILLAGE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
Village of Dublin, 7 members concurring, that:
Section 1. Chapter 373 of the Codified Ordinances of
the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, be amended to conform to
Senate Bill No. 169, amending the Ohio Revised Code, enacted by
the General Assembly, effective in part June 18, 1984 and in

part January 1, 1985. I
Section 2. Section 373.06 of the Codified Ordinances of
the Village of Dublin is hereby amended by adding the following:
373.06(c). Motorized bicycles are required to be
equipped with rearview mirrors.
Section 3. Section 373.07 of the Codified Ordinances of
the Village of Dublin is hereby amended to read as follows:
Every person operating a bicycle or motorized
bicycle upon a roadway shall operate that motorized
bicycle within three (3 ) feet of the right edge of
the roadway.
Section 4. Section 373.10 of the Codified Ordinances of
the Village of Dublin is hereby amended by adding the following:
373.l0(a) (3). Require motorized bicycles to be
registered, beginning with the 1985 registration
year.
Section 5. Section 373 of the Codified Ordinances of the
Village of Dublin is amended by adding the following section:
373.ll. To permit dealers in motorized bicycles to
obtain demonstration license plates.
Section 6. This Ordinance shall be deemed an emergency
measure for the immediate preservation of the public health,
safety and welfare due to the fact that immediate action is
necessary in order to create safe conditions on the Village
streets and highways by imposing safety requirements on motorized
bicycle operators. Therefore, Sections One, Two, Three and Six

of this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon its passage; Sections Four and Five shall take effect and
be in force from and on January 1, 1985.
