AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/BEST BID
FOR, AVERY ROAD WATERLINE IMPROVEMENTS
AUTHORIZING THE MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT: AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising, bids have been
received for Avery Road Waterline Improvements and:
WHEREAS Council has determined that the bid of Nickolas M. Savko
,
& Sons, Inc. in the amount of $ 382,084.80 is the
lowest/best bid:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of
Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. That the bid of Nickolas M. Savko & Sons, Inc. for
construction of Avery Road Waterline Improvements in accordance
with specifications on file in the office of the Manager be, and
hereby is, accepted.
SECTION 2. That the Village Manager and Finance Director be, and
they hereby are authorized and directed to execute a contract
wi th the sa id Nicko las M. Savko & Sons, Inc. for these im-
provements.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency
measure for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety and for the further reason that this Waterline should be
initiated and completed at the earliest possible date and,
therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.

SUBJECT: 12 Inch Avery Road Water Main
DATE: July 11, 1984
On July 9, 1984 at 11:00 A.M. bids were opened on the above referenced
project.
There were six (6) bidders and they are as follows; along with the total
amount of bid.
1. Nickolas M. Savko & Sons, Inc. $382,084.80
2. Prater Construction Corporation $424,105.00
3. S. E. Johnson Company $426,769.00
4. Underground Utilities, Inc. $442,761.75
5. Jack Conie & Sons Corp. $465,172.67
6. Tata Excavating, Inc. $473,634.30
The engineer's estimate of cost on the project was $473,700.00.
The low bidder was 19% under the engineer's estimate of cost.
I have reviewed all of the bids and recommend that the award be made to
the low bidder, Nickolas M. Savko & Sons, Inc. for the amount of $382,084.80.
