AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE
LOWEST/BEST BID FOR THE
PURCHASE OF OFFICE FURNITURE
FOR 5131 POST ROAD FOR THE
BUILDING AND ENGINEERING
DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF
DUBLIN, OHIO, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising a bid has been received for
the purchase of office furniture for 5131 Post Road for use by the
Building and Engineering Departments; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the bid from Plummer Incorporated
in the amount of $21,108.00 be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring:

Section 1. That the bid of $21,108.00 from Plummer Incorporated be,
and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager and the Finance Director are hereby
authorized to enter into a contract with said company for said office
furniture.
Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance
in the BUILDING AND ENGINEERING FUND the sum of $21,108.00 to account
B09-04-4B-2520, thereby establishing an appropriation for said account.
Section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to
be an emergency measure necessary for the public health, safety, and
welfare, and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.

FURNITURE COMPARISON
With an approximate $1,200 difference in the price of the furniture to be
acquired for the Building and Engieering Departments the issue arose of not
just accepting the lowest bid but the lowest and best bid. This not being an
easy thing to do, some critera on which to base a decision must be
established. For the purpose of this comparison the following was used:

by the numbers shown above the recommended lowest and best bid is Plumbers
