AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING TWENTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM THE GENERAL
FUND FOR PAYMENT TO THE DUBLIN
IRISH CELEBRATION, AN OHIO NON-
PROFIT CORPORATION
WHEREAS, Council has previously enacted a hotel/motel bed tax to
generate funds to enhance the City's appeal to visitors and tourists;
and
WHEREAS, funds generated by said tax have also been earmarked for the
funding of cultural and special events; and
WHEREAS, a non-profit corporation entitled "Dublin Irish Celebration"
has been established to develop and promote the Dublin 1/1000 Celebration;
and
WHEREAS, the immediate funding of the Dublin Irish Celebration non-profit
corporation is necessary for said entity to accomplish its purposes, and
as such constitutes an emergency to protect the public health, safety,
and cultural welfare of the citizens of Dublin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 5 of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) shall be appropriated
from the unappropriated balance in the GENERAL FUND for the Dublin
Irish Celebration, an Ohio non-profit corporation, for its use in
developing and promoting the Dublin 1/1000 celebration.
Section 2. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare,
and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon passage.
