A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE IGS PARK DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PR03ECT.
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the IGS Park
Development Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of
$126,189.00, submitted by Builderscape, Inc. is the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this project was programmed in the 2012 CIP and Thomas /Kohler
TIF Fund; and
WHEREAS, funding will be available in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund
and the Thomas /Kohler TIF Fund.
NOW, THEREFO kE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, _( g of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1 . The base bid in the amount of $126,189.00 submitted by
Builderscape, Inc. is hereby accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents
on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Background
On Tuesday, October 30, 2012, bids were opened for the IGS Park Development Project. Six (6)
bids were received:

The funds for this project are included in the 2012 CIP budget and through the Thomas /Kohler TIF
fund for the total amount of $275,000. The base bid estimate for this project was $158,930.
This project will include all materials and labor necessary for the construction of stream bank
erosion controls, a shared -use path, grading, site furniture installation and landscape
improvements.
Staff worked with representatives from IGS in the design of the park improvements. During
that process, it was determined that multiple picnic tables with shade would be more functional
than a shelter house as previously anticipated. It was also determined that a pedestrian bridge
over the Cosgray Creek was not warranted at this time and that this would be revisited upon
completion of an IGS building expansion.
In addition to the base bid there are also owner - provided materials, including picnic tables and
benches, in the amount of $12,449.16.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 67 -12, accepting Builderscape, Inc's base bid of
$126,189.00. Builderscape's has completed work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their
work to be most satisfactory.
