A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE DARREE FIELDS WATER SERVICE PROJECT
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Darree
Fields Water Service Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of
$126,559.40 submitted by Stillion Brothers is the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this project was programmed in the 2012 CIP; and
WHEREAS, funding will be available in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, � 7 of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1 . The base bid in the amount of $126,559.40 submitted by Stillion
Brothers is hereby accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents
on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Background
On Tuesday, July 10, 2012, bids were open for the Darree Fields Water Service Project. Five (5)
bids were received:
Trucco Construction Co., Inc.
McDaniel's Construction Corp., Inc.
Stillion Brothers Excavating, Inc.
Danbert, Inc.
Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc.
Base Bid
$140,900.00
$175,000.00
$126,559.40
$185,375.00
$167,585.00
The funds for this project are included in the 2012 CIP budget in the amount of $240,000.
Included in this budget are design service, tap fees and construction. The base bid estimate for
the construction phase of this project was $162,250.
This project will include all materials and labor necessary for the installation of a water line,
construction of a "hot box," abandonment of two potable water wells and all other necessary
work to convert all Darree Fields facilities to City water. The project will be completed in 2012.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 39 -12, accepting Stillion Brothers' base bid of
$126,559.40. Stillion Brothers has not previously performed work for the City of Dublin, but staff
has received most satisfactory references on numerous public projects that they have completed.
